About Me

Hello fellow foodies and travellers,

Welcome to my blog Kitchen Olivia. My name is Olivia, and I am a passionate foodie and travel lover, so my all of my blogs will be something around food or travelling (or both).

My great love for food first started when I was around 17, and I first had my dream to do something with my life related to food, whether it was to work within the food industry or to write my own cookery book, or even simply to start a blog. From a young age I traveled the world with my family, which is where my passion for exploring other cultures stems from, and why I have developed a strong wanderlust! I’m sure I have been like many of you our there, who have passions that you often say you want for fill (or friends or family keep saying that you should go for), but when it comes to it you never get around to doing it; so this New Year I thought, (as one of my new years resolutions) that I would take action and write my blog!

I am a very family/friends orientated person, so I am sure you will see some posts involving those close to me, from throwing them a dinner party, travelling together, giving them cooking lessons, or brunch Sundays.

My blogs will range from food and restaurant recommendations/reviews in London and around the UK (from restaurants, cafes, street food, markets and more) as well as food travel blogging to help you know where to eat when you are in certain places abroad.

As well as this advice and food travel blogging my blog will also look at my personal travels, and I will write blogs about places you should visit and why, as well as what to do when/where to go when you are there!

My blog will also heavily feature my own personal delicious recipes. I love to cook, and have done since I was 15 (I don’t think my mum has had many chances since, to get into the kitchen when I’m around). I always love baking treats to give to friends, family or work colleagues, and I LOVE hosting brunch/lunch or dinner with my lovely friends.  I currently have a common skin allergy called rosacea which often means that certain foods, condiments and alcoholic drinks can cause an allergy on my face (a red sort of rash), so I will often try to cook without these ingredients (and boy is it a long list), but will occasionally include some of the things I should eat in moderation as life is too short not to eat what you enjoy (I mean, who cant live a life without chocolate or soy sauce?!). If you are a fellow rosacea sufferer then keep and eye on my monthly blogs for yummy recipes that you will be able to enjoy without risking a flare up!

(If any of you out there are also struggling with this condition, please do reach out, let me know so things you would like to eat but struggle to find without trigger foods, and I can try to come out with a yummy recipe for you!)

I’m sure along the way I might thing of some more exciting and interesting food or travel related blogs to share with you all, but if you have any recommendations that you would love to here, please do hesitate to comment on my blogs or contact me via my contact page.

Love Olivia x
